5th week

This is the first time in my entire life that I,
John Lee
have played the piano for a congregation (trumpets roar)
and I have to put my hat down to you Crissy and other pianist
who done it over and over again
playin drums is comparitively simple
guitar is fairly more difficult
but piano is nerve wrecking
i never shivered so much before worship started
but thank God for those brawlers who made my piano sink in the wave of sound and dissapear all together
but it was my duty to start the ball rolling
there was 3 problems
1st: i couldn't read Khmer so the scribbles on the paper didn't really help me much in finding which part of the song they're singgin
2nd: i've not heard too many khmer songs.. sooo they're all new songs.. but good thing they're all fairly simple
3rd: my piano is only up till a grade 2 level
what on earth am i doing there......
well i've been practicin my skills of playin by ear and a bit by chords on the piano so i can do la
well i guess what lifted me through that time was a little prayer i did b4 the worship..
and the faith of a mustard seed
being in tune with God brings faith for His words bring hope
I of course didn't play very magically after that but i guess i did lead the worship properly
i do not want to boast in my achievement for this is 100% God's work with a lil practice during the week on my side
oh thank you all who have been praying for me...
lately i've been thinkin of the prospect of being a missionary
why?
well why not?
this mission trip has done a heck of a lot in me
I really haven't got any calling more prominent than this one to be a missionary
as Jim Elliot said
all we really need is a kick in the errr behind
well we'll see next time
but whatever is ahead of me
i am certainly not afraid

I AM 100% SPIDEY
WAKAKAKA that's way cool
spidey rawks! LOL

anyways... 4 weeks i've been here and thinking about stuff is inevitable
these are the times when you see your life the right way up
my conclusion is everyone has to have something to look forward to
if one looks forward to something bad
whatever in between is dead
look forward to something good
something really really good
it may be a birthday or something
over here life moves at an extraordinarily slow pace..
people just have a lot of free time
so each day i'll look forward to tomorrow
and what surprises are installed for me
not looking back at what i could have done
what could have been
what should have been
what i ought to have said
and realising that tomorrow will be a new day
plan today to spend tomorrow for His best interest
i'm looking forward this time
i know i will be let down somehow
but for the sake of today i'm looking forward
no more pains of yesterday
no more scars of yesteryears
by His woulnds we are healed

coming forth to carry me home

I shall start my post with this!

hahahahah!!! cute horr..still no name yet.. she's still a puppy.. i call her sexy dog LOL..
yea there's a cute side to suong too.. there are lil chicks and pigletts... wanted to get those photos unfortunately no battery liao in camera so u all have to do with this.. I'm sorry to say i have no pictures of the water war... was to scared to take out the camera.. the kids are really crazy.. they throw the pails of water with a unique style so that the outcoming water will be splashed at a very high velocity inflicting high amount of pain that will make a person like me or someone with as good a threshold of pain to go ARGH!.. well i am proud to have mastered the art of throwing water from a pail.. my cambodian sifu told me that it involves the usage of most of your muscles in your body.. and to inflict the most pain one must be in a certain distance from the victim..
LOL
well the khmer holidays are over and it's back to work... teaching and all that... oh and i have become somewhat a bookworm.. i am totally engrossed with books now.. since sok lan came on thursday and passed me 6 books.. i am sad to say that i have finished 4 of it.. they're all very very good books.. they're all fairly thick books but the most funny thing is that all of them has something to do with England.. every one of the books i read here.. It's very odd to be transported to England and back to Cambodia so often that sometimes while finishing a long period of reading i will be very very confused where i am for just a split second of course.. I spent so much time reading that the people here actually thought it really was my very natural hobby.. so in a very odd way my visit here actually improved my english (to a certain level of course as you can see my many grammatical errors and wrong usage of vocabulary in this post) and i dare say my England is quite powderfull edi... HAHAHAHA! i shall not bore you with books i read but tears did fall in some instance of reading a James Herriot and i did get a bit spooked while reading an Agatha Christie and i did shout at Mr. Stevens calling him " Ýou idiot!"
in the novel 'what remains of the day'. (i picture what i read very well heheh) well a good book does beat tv by a mile... but really bad ones doesnt come close to the wonders of tv.. oh and bout the chocolate fondue.. i'm not jealous at all.. if i close my eyes and tap my heels very hard i can almost see my ABC soup transform into a choc fondue! i am fairly content here.. Anyways
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANE

THE PAIN

i woke up yesterday with a big urge to go to the toilet... found out that i had indigestion... must be something i ate.. well i made many many trips to the toilet with great pain... I could feel the bad food fermenting in my tummy... ack...... didn't eat the whole day and fell down on the bed with a horrendous fever... slept through most of the day... Thank God for panadol... still a bit sick today.. no appetite for anything (which i think is good for i am a fatty) and a slight fever.. oh bout the water war... it's already started.. it's a wet all innocent bystanders rule.. had fun in the evening standing by the road and throwing water at people in motorbikes... would be fun to have it in malaysia too... could propose this to badawi?

I do have something to rejoice about... some malakar seems to be out of style already

I have spent my free time over here reading that book now i really have nothing to fill my free time with.. ah the boredom the boredom...
I actually wanted to add more pics but the computer overr here didn't quite allow me.. Khmer New year just passed.. nothing significanty happened except the throwing of powder on people's faces.. that's bout it.. I hear of a nation wide water war comin soon LOL... donno how true it is.. Well that would be cool...

on my hard labour.. lately there was a lot off carrying stuff around (70kg poles) and my back is really hurting.. it's the holidys now so nothin much is goin on.. not even teaching haih.. I'm seriously bored here fellas.. haih... btw how was your youth sunday?

Let's not talk bout cambodia for a while
Past few days i've been reading a throughly wonderful book.
James Herriot's All Cretures Great and Small--------------------->
It's a thoroughly wonderful book and mind you it's 600 pages thick and the
words are really tiny....
Oh it's so lovely how he pictured his life in yorkshire
FYI James Herriot is a country vet and this is a lil part of his life..
It's a very good mix of comedy to frustration to down right gross pictures
he paints with his words.. Oh and not forgetting a pinch of plain old romance..
I'm so proud of myself for bringing a really good book over here coz there's a lot of free time
and there ain't no tv.. The sad part is i'm almost done with it.. ARGH!!!! I really recommend everyone to read it.. I have a confession.. I'm really really love Love stories.. not too much but just enough.. So when it came to the chapters of James meeting his future wife i was really readding closely (and NO i don't believe i'm sissified becoz of this!) It's so heartwarming... Honestly I've become particularly lonely here.. It's not very fun to have no one of the same age group as me who i cn converse with (it's always a struggle to converse with the khmer people)
Haih.. so this book took a lil of the loneliness away and transported me to this lil town of Yorkshire. which i am very certain i am going in the future... I wouldnt want to spoil anything for you all.. I'll borrow it to whoever wants it when i come bak
till next time

THE 1323 (continuation of the continuation) u bored yet?

sooo... now Mr. Annou sent it off to be photostated by some photostating company thing... photo copy 6 copies each... The nex day it comes bak... And guess wat... i had to check every copies!

the number of pages i needed to check (takes out calculator)

hmmm 1323 *6 is= 7936
and i had to double check 7936*2= 15876
there was some corrections sooooo i had to check the new copies 15876 +25= 15901

WOOHOO
errr the end... :P

Tuesday, March 20, 2007

THE 1323
continued
zing-zing-zing a green line of light moved left and right almost hypnotising.... At page number 7 hundred something i really felt like puking.. only problem was i didn't have breakfast so nothing was in my tummy.. I ended up puking gastric juice and stomach acid in the toilet of course which stung my throat.. after a while of green light torture i have finished...
But it was not over...... jeng jeng jeng
Mr. Annou compiled the copies and brought it to me.. Hey john! now ah u see the pages ah.. can u number them 1 by 1 at the top right corner.. Can ah... good good!
Sob.........
So there i go... 1 by 1 numbering the thick pile of paper... do u know... that numbering pages is like counting sheep... 1, 2, 3, 4 zzzzzzz.... paper is white, like sheep... it's errr as harmful as a sheep.. and err... dono.... But by the 500 somethin page i went to the toilet and took a nap... (in LSS&co got CCTV wan so not good to let boss see u sleeping)
I numbered and numbered and numbered.... 673 pages... Ah yes finish edi.. so i brought the stack of papers to Mr. annou's cubicle... So proud of myself for the achievement.. Good good... he said Here's the other pile...
ARGH
I took the other pile of paper... put it on my table and.... used it as my pillow.... Lol... well i had to finish it so off i go.... number number number... du du du du... and in the end the last number was...........
1323
to be continued
really
u bored yet?
The 1323
this is Lee Swee Seng & Co!!!! ARGH!!!!!
Mr. Annou calls me first thing in the morning....
Hey John! You can photostat ah?
With my instant response I said YEA..... Who would know that this would change my next 3 days at LEE SWEE SENG & CO!
Good he replied while passing me a thick bulk of papers.. Written on it was the instruction to photocopy pgs adding up to a big number that i myself was toooo disturbed to count... i grunted disgruntledly... I'm sure you can do it.. all it akes is a lil patience and a chair by the photostating machine.....
That wasn't the most encouraging words sum1 has said to me but he tried... So off i went... FYI in lee swee seng & co there are 2 photocopying machines... one is a fax cum fotocopy machine, the other is in the filing room.... small portions of photocopy stuff are done in the fax + photocopy machine (near mr. kenny's room) while larger portions are done in the filing room.... sooooooo I had to do it in the filing room...DUH... lil did i know that.............
A ROLLEY CHAIR CAN'T FIT IN THE FILING ROOM!!!!!
GAH..... wat!?!?! this can't be going on! sooo for the next 3 hours i was bz photostatin the papers STANDING!!! we don need to talk bout the leg cramps later... Another thing... becoz it's already binded.... i can't use the photocopy slot... so 1 by 1 i put the page on the glass panel and looked at the caution stuck on it saying
CAUTION DO NOT STARE AT LIGHT!!!
erk........ -to be continued-
*u bored yet?

a non emo song on a blog
In the town where I was born
Lived a man who sailed to sea
And he told us of his life
In the land of submarines
So we sailed up to the sun
Till we found the sea of green
And we lived beneath the waves
In our yellow submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine,
yellow submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine,
yellow submarine
And our friends are all on board
Many more of them live next door
And the band begins to play
We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine,
yellow submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine,
yellow submarine
[Full speed ahead, Mr. Parker,
full speed ahead!Full speed over here, sir!
Action station! Action station!
Aye, aye, sir, fire!
Heaven! Heaven!]
As we live a life of ease (A life of ease)
Everyone of us (Everyone of us)
has all we need (Has all we need)
Sky of blue (Sky of blue)
and sea of green (Sea of green)
In our yellow (In our yellow) submarine
(Submarine, ha, ha)
We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine
We all live in a yellow submarine
Yellow submarine, yellow submarine

why do people love habbits
1. they rhyme with hobbit
2. it involves veri little of the brain (something like slapstick comedy)
3. it's comfortable

well for the past three months everything was comfortable... habbits grew and pretty much every weekday i would hang out in lt2 waiting for people to come to practice...
several things i've learnt:

a) loneliness suck
b) people alwez come late
c) if u wanna be punctual bring a friend

and thank God i had that friend!

1 is lonely
2 is company
3 and above is practice!

the simple rules of human psychology and understanding of the term loneliness
according to John lee

when u feel unwelcomed even though theres no one
when u feel welcomed in a group of strangers
when u feel a different emotion from the flow of emotions
when u feel fragile and not willing to go close to people
when u feel like the cat beside u is laughing at u and calling u and idiot (you chase the cat of course) all to no avail
when u think that no one cares out you but u very well know they do

loneliness suck
let's all be friends

hello stranger i'm john

Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villian by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengence; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

the adventure of special agent wintermelon *woof*

sunday 7.30 a.m

the Lee's have just awaken. i shut off the paw-top and hid it under the stereo set. i than sat by the stair waiting. the boy strided down the stairs hastily. he heads for the kitchen. i followed him as he turned the knob on the oven in a numeral lock sort of manner. he opened the oven and there was a stairs. i followed him down and down and down. took pictures of the underground area. it was huge. filled with blinking tingamajiggies and rotating leverathingies. how could all of this fit in this house. the stairs creaked and the boy looked around suspiciously. i turned on my camouflage. attaching a stick on my head and acting like a mop. well he didn't suspect anything. i sneaked back up and it's off to my daily routine of sleeping and eating and the occasional belly rubs.

monday 5.00 a.m.

I was awaken by the thumping of footsteps as the boy jumped down in one giant leap. i followed him to the kitchen and down the oven.. wonder how it works as both a oven and an entrance of a secret underground laboratory for world domination. hmmmm i wonder....... nvm... i went down and i went on tip toes so that he can't hear me. and i saw a big iron door with the sign saying air missiles on it... i must blow it up... and urgently...... URGENTLY........ i hurried up and prepared the C4 to be used to blow it up.....

wednesday 2.00 a.m.
i openned the secret hatch in the oven and went down.... slowly.... silently...... stealth of the wolf.... package of C4 tied securely on my back i tip-toed on all my four legs... avoiding cameras... jumping over laser beams.... and there!!!! the door...... AIR MISSILE...... MAY CAUSE MASS DESTRUCTION, MESS DESTRUCTION, MISS DESTRUCTION, MOSS DESTRUCTION AND MUSS DESTRUCTION. I opened up the door and...................... the alarm went off!!!!!! the boy teleported straight next to me...... darn.......... "what do you think you're doing" he laughed!!!

3.00 a.m.
err jus looking around said I.... "well so have you found what you were looking for?" said the oy... I nodded an signalled to the door...
" oh that, well i'm sure u want to know what's in it....."
he oppened the door with a silent swish
and..........................
there was nothing........................
"what do u expect it to be?"said the boy....
"it's missiles made of air..... air missiles....."said the boy
sigh............................ i untied myself and went to my favourite spot at the bottom of the table
